Step by step they whirled into the dark

Tinting the night in the colour of baroque
Stopping the clouds from their nostalgic cry
Then the dancers disappeared from sight
And the only thing they left behind
Was the flagrant odour of a rose
Perfuming their track of gloom
Shall we dance?

My tears taste like watery salt in my mouth
Blood buds out of my forehead
Reminding me of better days
