Luceo non uro

I miss you when you are the closest
like a little memory inside my heart
that time will never erase.
And/when/even if my feelings fade
I will always have this scar,
painful, constant reminder
of a love that once was true.

Many birthdays shall be gone.
An empty seat in a crowded table.
A sweet voice in a thundering roar
That I’ve always waited for
But it’s never there.

Yet within, deeply rooted,
I enshroud a blind faith.
The cold concealment of utter hope;
shattered, shrunken, yes, but hope.

 

I know about those scars and how the pain seems to linger even when we try to walk away from it.

I like the poem, from its Latin name to its meaning...

IMO: A scar made by true love will always be beautiful
It's the essential reminder that you know how to love, that you have loved and that you are capable of loving again.
It's much more than some people can or can't do. I miss you and you haven't left yet because I know when you come back you won't be the same
and I know I'll miss the one you've already been because he'll never come back
