My soul and I shake hands
and say see ya later to each other each night
knowing that, someday, we never will.

I wonder about this, all the time,
if my other self gets hung up on shit like this,
then, tender and loving sweet-heart friend,
I think about you and peace sings to me.

    Life is life
along the dream road and the experience
of being awake to a joyful day thinking of you,
    but poems aren’t meant
    to travel on all alone,
    it’s just not right.

I love the beginning of this poem. So true, we really do say “see you later”to the body...
It has given much to think about.
    Loved it.

    Flor de agosto,
saying see ya later to our soul is,
In my humble opinion, of primary importance.
On occasion I forget to because of the beer therapy
but I know that the risk of not being present at any given day
    is persistent, it’s always there.

I try, each day, to wear a smiling face
to have as many cups of coffee and enjoy
the privilege of saying good night and good luck to my other self.

Gracias por pasar, abrazos y paz,
    Fidel Guerra.

    Sarita,
the other self, if I could describe him with just one
word, it would be; practical. He finds its way inside me
and there’s not way to avoid him, but I like to have
him around my poetic thoughts because his gifts,
straight out from unknown lands, have a lot
verses line up with cinnamon tea.

    Thus, dear friend,
this poem is dedicated to that person I don’t know,
especially to that one who inspire me in very special
    ways and in certain moments.

I know it’s very easy to get lost on my
writings, that’s way, dear friend, I thank you
    very much for reading me..

    Hola Guadalupe,
I catch glimpses of my history when I see marbles in the store and just down the block un “bochito”...I want to carry a handful of these in my pockets, like before, but nowadays I’m too busy. The bocho..I wish I can ride on it. Unfortunately, it’s just a piece of junk.

I ask my son to play marbles but it’s like I’m from another planet to him. Of course, I feel the same way when I see him playing video games. I tried playing videos but it’s not my thing. He doesn’t want play marbles because, supposedly, all marble games are so damn boring to him. Perhaps they are.

So, I make peace with myself, nevertheless, I enjoy having the opportunity to marvel at the beauty of seeing him holding these round crystals, just as I did back when marbles were the real deal...and my nickname was “ maistro canica “

As with many other breakthroughs in humanity, peace in itself is healing, inspiring, cost effective but, as our own lives or time, delicate or often with limited shelf life.

    Thanks,
    Fidel Guerra.
