birthdays

I’m thinking
about my birthday and the sunset.
Birthdays are nonsense because I never
wish to remember that I’m getting old or becoming an old fart.

I came to think of birthdays
as a weird and exhausting time
or as something you carry and enjoy
for a short while and later just don’t give a shit.

Oh but I love cake, las mañanitas,
a nice and wild fuck, gift cards and my morning woody.

I have never asked for any wishes but
If could or if I ever die it will be nice to celebrate
my birthday and my non existence in the same day. That will be something….

I don’t want to talk about sex right off the bat but...
mmm, when women do their magic thing or are in control that could mean all the difference in a man’s life.
I mean, even if I am not in a relationship it’s a beautiful journey but you stated the truth; “ you die a little every day you do the wild....”

Anyway, lets talk about birthdays, well, these are tiring, confusing and besides, I get so sick of eating so much cake but like Guadalupe, I love to celebrate other’s birthdays. I felt weird writing about dying in our birthdays and at the same time it felt kind of seductive. Of course, only if God allows it but it would be a very unique or double present to celebrate...can you imagine?

Maria,
I always look for turns or ways to avoid on celebrating my birthday but it’s not that easy.
As you get older, it seems, they come faster than the previous one. I guess every birthday, as every day,
hope is reborn and we travel out of it as well. Sorry, the profundity of my birthday experiences are just plain,
not for candles, parties or fancy gifts, but work and religious background. Ah yes, everything changes but some things don't.

I agree, family is love, everything. As an immigrant it has been through time and the many miles, even if many are gone from my sight and touch to the other world no one knows where it is but I am sure is comfortable and perhaps invisibly right next to us.

I truly enjoy my birthdays with my family but there is something or the poetic quest that makes me feel like a distant traveler in this special day. that's all, no big deal because the next day I feel like " Sergio el bailador"

Sergio is a song from a musical group ( Bronco ) de Monterrey, a hit from the 90's.
A wanderer? I'm because I know how to get myself out of my poetic maze but that's about when I fall asleep. Poetry does not let me be, it's tough.
