into the hills

I know there are any number of ideas
( ways) that are like traps, that make it easy
for me to get lost in this crazy world of thoughts.

Even if I write all the time, even if I
ever think I wrote something nice, I'll always
remember being simply preoccupied if I really did.

I never told you any stories
about poetry and I, though I often thought
and still do so today, something about us has been like broken promises written on all the hidden landscapes everyone imagines and, yet, will never guess who you are.

Yes, I mean I don't think I'm able
to differentiate between my written feelings
in English or Spanish but I'm able to name you or identify my feelings in either one while you drive me around here, cold and fast as a blast from our lovely sun.

It feels good to be happy,
natural or wild in the hands of poetry,
though I like to apologize, but you don't have to for being so good looking and sweet like cotton candy in a colorful county fair.
