The vacuity of reality

Standing in the vacuity of reality,
here I am, facing tomorrow...
with the past pounding on my back
and the future as uncertain as uncertainty itself.

It is sad to see the window being closed,
plans, hopes, illusions and dreams
vanish inside the window as it closes...thus,
even though honesty is a virtue,
it is also the slamming hand
that closes the doors of a future
that maybe wouldn't have ever existed.

That's the pounding sound of the empty-handed reality.​
