To Recognize

TO RECOGNIZE

To recognize things is to have met them before,
it’s to feel familiarity with them, part of you.
To recognize things means to come back
filling yourself with memories and stories,
it’s to give life to your body, it’s to awaken
the world sleeping inside you, in your soul.

To recognize things means to give back life
to all your yesterdays, all your footprints.
To recognize things means to restore your age
breathing the old air sleeping in your pores,
it’s to lie down in the amazing land of your life
recovering the time which had gone for ever.

To recognize yourself means to love without time,
it’s to create again and again an old-new world.
To recognize yourself means to fly hand in hand
with your feelings, your mind, your inner life;
it’s to engrave your name on an eternal tree;
to recognize yourself is never to forget yourself.
