This is an homage to an excellent japanise engineer, who was my superior, whith whom we worked together at República del Salvador, in a Highway Project.

    THE HIGHWAY MAN

    In the Highway department
    we know him fine,
each day we see him working
    well past the time
Not only that, but he also has
    an inside light
for when the things come hard
    he laughs or smiles,
so he deserves the name as
    “The Highway Man”
this homage must be done to
    Kokubo San.

That man of the cart deserves recognition that is sleepy and illusions while it goes by the arduous way of the life.
    Very good tribute.
    Hugs.

I liked the rime, and I liked the homage, and I also liked the example...this Highway man is a very hard working person from what I can tell, and there are not many hard working people but it shows that if you do work hard your work will not be taken for granted! good work! xD...I have to say this in spanish because I like it more in spanish jajaja: besos!

Dear Canelita: Thank you for your comments, it's nice to read somebody in english, and about one's poem; you may be sure this man was an exceptional proffesional, (he has a master degree in engineering at Harvard), and I had the privilege of working with him for several months. Great experience.
    Regards,
    edelabarra

  6. Your poem is good, a professional in the highway, I don't understand it very well, my English is not very good, but my intention in its comment is very sincere.
    I give him my stars.

Hi Edel...Your superior was always in a good mood, he had the right attitude for life. I see he really deserves to be called " the highway man". We must take his example.
    Kisses, LauF

Few dare to write poetry in other languages.

And as in other occasions, I was pleasantly surprised to find good poetry in english.

    My respects, Maestro.

    A fraternal hug from Mexico.

Yes, he did, I read this poem, the day we finished our task,
    during a good bye celebration;

    Dear Eduardo,
It seems to me very kind of you that you have offered a sincere homage to a former Japanese worker with whom you labored in El Salvador. A sincere honor because people frequently do it at the moment they are working with him.
My warm congratulations for your nobility and disinterested recognition.
    Fraternally,
    Ramiro
