Lovesick

Today
I washed my face
of daily hopes, I lied in bed
and cried
myself
to sleep.

I grabbed a pillow
and kissed
the bitter tears
of yesterday.

The sheets are so cold
and the bed
seems so big
…
and empty.

I imaging you
sweet and kind,
staring at me
with those beautiful
eyes.

You make me
melt.

In my fantasy
I embrace you
into my arms
and whisper
in your ear.

What I tell you
makes you laugh.

And when you do,
baby, I shiver
inside,
I don’t need
anything else
to feel happy
at last.

I can almost feel you
lying by my side.

And although I know
this crazy dream of mine
will never possibly be,
I keep drowning in it
with no intention
of coming out.
