Allá, ciudades que me esperan,
rostros que me buscan y no me encuentran
aun no me voy mi tierra amada,
antes, escribiré en tus plazas y banquetas
en los postes y en las puertas
en tus cerros y montañas
y en el cielo mismo, escribiré un poema
por que antes de ser poeta del mundo,
quiero ser poeta tuyo, amada tierra

Será así entonces mi partida
y te dejare aquí a mi madre querida
a mi bien amada,
y a mi amor fuente de alegría,
me iré pregonándole al mundo
la dicha de ser hijo tuyo,
y no de una tierra impía
