Pretending.

Can we pretend it didn’t happen…​

To let it happen once?​

Can we pretend to be pretending?​

Can we feel shame for what we are?

​

All of the nightmares resurrected,​

all of the corpses left alive,​

and when in love, we were in danger,​

my heart was filled in poison gas.

​

A mask that fell inside the darkness,​

a face in shadows turning black,​

and if we live to keep our silence…​

Can we pretend it’s not a lie?

​

All of the tears in anger burning,​

all of your hopes raging inside,​

and if we fall again into the nothing…​

Can we pretend pretending it’s all right?

It's a smashing poem, Starlight. I rather the first stanza more than all the rest but you made your best here. I wanna give u an advice if you please, the second strophe, that part, poison gas, i think that it doesnt suit there, but it's just an advice. Besides, i left you my cheers. A big hug. Yes, it has a melancholy flavor and it's a little bitter at the same time... sorry for bringing you those memories... just hope they will be gone soon to see you smile again.

In fact... i think that part fits just perfectly to describe how a heart can change and become so vulnerable and cruel at the same time. It's all some kind of metamorphosis, from trusting to just keeping a lie.

Well... I can't really say it's from the heart since it's all imaginary but... sad it is XD. And hey, I bet you could write lots better than me since i'm not good at it =D, i'm just trying to not get rusty at it...

Here in Babel we have lots of poets who write in diferent languages... and belive me, they're better, you should read them also.
