I am

I am robust and wide,
not fat or what others call fat,
but well built, maybe even handsome.

My eyes,
although noble and brown,
surely sparkle with intelligence,
and can even spot shooting stars before they run away.

As a youngster I lived a tough life,
I let others comb my hair the way they wanted,
never parted down the middle, never long
because those scissors could sniff-out a long mane.

My black hair
now wants to be gray,
but it knows not of my emotion,
like when there are foot prints in the jungle
that suggest...well...wildness and freedom.
