glow

day by day my soul works the chain,
under the sun, under the rain;
leaving a path of blood and tears,
sweating memories, ghosts and fears.

a whole life living in a cage,
i'm like a bird bleeding in rage.
watching the world behind a bar,
always so close and still so far.

hopelessly looking for a hand,
i've been begging from land to land.
looking for love i just found jeer:
i feel insane...my mind's not here!

voices singing within my head,
saintly bearing a cross of lead.
rust crawling up my ancient arm,
chanting a song that no one harm.

night by night my heart holds the link...
my mind dies every time i think.
ragged my nature with every blow,
in this long cave i've seen a glow...
