Actualmente se esta elaborando una traducción para este poema. Pero por lo pronto me gustaría compartirlo en ingles. Sugerencias y comentarios son bien venidos:

Poema #3: Cuba

Cuba, I have walked yours streets and danced with your children
Cuba, I have seen your people feel like born orphans in their own country
Cuba, I have seem your father treat you like slaves whether in new or old Habana
Cuba, I have seen the beauty of your people, customs, colors and Sazón
I have seen how your country has become a globe to preserve its dignity among Romans, crusaders and liars but how this event has robbed the people of its voice and spirit.
Cuba, I have seen your censored dictionary which has few words and many laws
When words like don’t, dictator, run pictures around the city and you are forced to smile
I honor your courage to withstand and continue to sing and dance
Cuba, no border or law can ever stop your mind from creating or hoping for a chance at change
Cuba, when you are forced to flee your country because your goals and aspirations are polluted by man
Your mother cries with sadness, but her heart rejoices as you set for the sea
Cuba, as the wind blows and a new beginning awaits you, hear the voice of your ancestors say, “Remember your raíz.”
Cuba, in movement of beat and drums the ground shakes and the ghosts smile because they know one day liberation will make the name and unnamed, little and old laugh
And your heart will be whole and your soul complete
