I have a fiend in my coal chamber

I have a fiend in my coal chamber
who is sometimes a devil
and sometimes a stuffed animal,
it brings me flowers that it steals
from the neighbours' flowerpots
and also bones of dead animals,
occasionally he lets himself be hugged
and sometimes he hides
under the bed to come out
of the side and scare me,
I should have sent him back
and shut the door he came in through
but he's so cute I can't,
I bring him bags of candy
and I drive him around in my pink BMW,
maybe the shadow
will end up becoming my own
as he hides in the coal chamber.
