    May be we are wrong
    May be it shouldn’t be
    But don’t lock us away
    Without listening to our reasons

We know it might be hard
    For you to truly comprehend
Because you’ve never experienced our life
Because your generation doesn’t remember well

But listen to what we have to say
We’re not here to steal away your happiness
We didn’t come to be a burden for you
We’re here because we want the dream for ourselves

Some of us didn’t even have a choice
We believe in loyalty, in selfless sacrifice
Some of us left a lot behind
To support our loved ones with the work of our hands

You seem to believe we’re liars
And blame us for all the problems
But you don’t see what we’ve done for you
You’re blind no matter what we do

You take pride on your ancestors’ fight
They fought for liberty, for peace, for land
Yet, they were no different from us
    They too came from afar

    You seem to have forgotten
The fathers didn’t own this soil
They were strangers from across the sea
So your background is just like ours

You say it’s a matter of justice
Yet you show to us your injustice
    Tearing our families apart
Trying to paint the star on our clothes

You believe you’re a righteous kind
The liberators of an oppressed world
You did bring the Nazis down
But don’t see you follow their footsteps
You helped tear down one wall
    Yet you’re building another

    We don’t hate you,
    We don’t hold a grudge
We just want you to see the light
We want to take the blindfold from your eyes

We want an opportunity to dream
We want to help you be strong
To stay true to what the fathers believed in
To stay true to what this land stands for

    We just want a chance
    Please don’t turn us away
    Don’t accuse us with lies
Please, we just want a chance…
