myth regarding me

Hi there,
I don't believe in myths,
but because I've been scowling,
ruminating over words, sobbing, and
smiling drunkenly at you, there is a myth
that I am someone else.

Why does poetry inspire me
to build castles in words?

What draws me to lay
flat on my back and
gaze up at the fake
stars in the ceiling
while thinking
of you?

My friend,
even though I'm not fully operational this evening
or poetically not feeling my best and normally avoid making
comments when there aren't any, I'm doing it anyway. It's odd; it
feels like I'm writing to myself, but I hope you're pleasantly surprised
