THE DAEMONS OF MY MIND

The daemons of my mind
appear in my window
and greet me with a whisper
when dawn is rising.

They light my lust
intoxicating me of desire,
transforming it into solitude.

The daemons of my mind
know my hidden name
they dig inside my secrets
and play around with my memories.

They laugh at my disenchantments
they mock my yearnings
and tell me: "Give up now".

The daemons of my mind
call me by my name
they snuggle in my heart
and eat from my plate.

They take my soul between their hands
and with odd shapes
turn me into a new being.

The daemons of my mind
have the woman's touch
and with a sweet charm
lead me from the hand.

They leave me in a desert,
sad, silent, defeated
facing me with my identity.

And upon arriving the night
they repeat with cynical sweetness:
"Sleep, rest your tormented soul,
tomorrow everything will be fine".

The daemons of my mind, have face of myself.
