Muere la llama ardiente,
presa de las manos ciegas,
frías, atroces y violentas.
Oscuro brillo helador,
continuo, prolongado.
Tirita, muerta de frío,
la ceniza caliente.
Vaga perdida, a tientas.

Sugar sutsua hiltzen da,
esku itsuek harrapaturik,
hotzak, ankerrak eta bortitzak.
Izozkailu distira iluna,
jarraitua, luzea.
Tirita, hotzak hila,
errauts beroa.
Nora ezean ibiltzen da,
haztamuka.

The burning flame dies,
prey to cold, atrocious, blind
and violent hands.
Dark, icy glow,
continuous, prolonged.
Dead from the cold,
the hot ash shivers.
Wanders lost, groping.
