Strolling as I was in the north of Finis Terra***
I heard a terrible lament
It was a brigantine# lass, with emerald eyes.
She was crying desperately over her evergreen clothing
Tears flowing down her cheeks
Like rivers rushing to their doom
There was some kind of mist in her look
So I couldn’t help getting closer,
And I said:
“Don’t you cry, not any more,
Celtic child who gazes at the sea.”

“You don’t understand”
She whispered.

“Speak, and I will”
I replied.

“It was a night in which a meiga## came,
From a country that you will find
At the north of dreams
And the east of reality.
She envied the shine in my eyes,
The happiness in my face;
So she took my loved one
And threw him into the sea.
I will never see him again…

There you have your answer.
Please go now.
Leave me alone.
I will continue keeping watch
Over the watery tomb of my love.
Because sometimes, I can hear a song
And I hear his voice again.”

“A song?”
I asked astonished.

“Yes, if you close your eyes tight
You may hear it too.
Take my hand and open your heart,
Let your soul free
Be water, be ocean’s breeze…”

And then the prodigy came true:
Mortui in somno ad eternum sunt…

Mortui in somno ad eternum sunt…

Mortui in somno ad eternum sunt…
