The silver lining of robots

Tell me which jobs are robots doing now.
Some state-of-arte machines have us replaced.
Many talented writers were forced out
of work. It’s bound to happen to anyone.
I used to be a poet with a lucrative
career once, but nowadays no longer.
Technology will replace all of us.
I hope it is good news for poetry
because, to be blunt, contraptions beat bards
and voice-activated machines can even
take over rhapsodists. What a relief!
There is always a silver lining. Yes!

"60Minutes did an in depth story about this subject of robots and A.I last night. They said that “40% of human jobs will be replaced by A.I in the near future.” and according to the book: Talking to Robots: Tales from Our Human-Robot Futures by David Ewing Duncan. This author claims that not only 40% but up to 80% of current jobs will be replaced by A.I.

(A poem was written by a robot) As researchers Bei Liu and Jianlong Fu explain, it is a fairly subjective task. Using more than 8,000 images, Liu and Fu trained their system using both humans and algorithmic agents. Here’s what this creative AI wrote after “seeing” a typical wintry countryside scene:

“Sun is shining.

The wind moves.

Naked trees.

You dance.”

Not bad in my opinion. I am not sure if it's a silver lining, however A.I is advancing so much lately that it might be sooner than later. Although I would wonder if it is an improvement to the stuff that's being put out especially by the new wave of social media poets. A.I is everywhere even in the bedroom, but that is another story for another time.
