half baked muse

Guerrion

Poeta que considera el portal su segunda casa
I’m not sure why
but there’s always a fairy
or strange poem, larger than a page
smiling at me from nowhere or from a dream.

Who knows why
but the poems I had previously
stored in my brain become more visible to me
as I walk away toward the refrigerator, for a beer.

At times I write too much, other times I drink too little,
about half a page and half a beer seem to be sufficient for a day.

You may know why I’m writing but I don’t.
I ought to halt since since too much poetry
gives me a headache, makes a lovely total
mess out of me cause of you, as you'll see.

Gus,
now and then a flock of ideas soar, come by but I cannot get a good picture of it...that's why beer it's important,
it helps or allows me to fly across the two worlds you and I know all about. I guess my prowess as a simple poeta is such that birds often express a dislike for me because after 3 beers I tend to whistle. I think they regard me to be successful a competitor for their singing which they consider their own particular asset, but that's up for debate. what do you think? are you a poetic whistler?

Última edición:
no... I don't whistle... I'm never alone, not here, nor outside either...
I live in an area very busy, day and night, with lots of Mexicans and blacks,
right across from a super-loaded liqueur store, so you can imagen. And at work
I'm the supervisor of ten people that are always yelling and screaming... busy busy
I work ten hours ... at my age is not easy to remember the tunes any more, jeje

Gus,
I enjoy whistling, but after nearly three years of wearing a mask, I'm having more trouble keeping a tune. I'm also a bilingual whistler, and this is the part that the male pajaritos despise the most.

I whistle at the hospital because I'm my own boss and operate a one-man loading dock. I don't have someone to supervise, but I do have a hospital and coworkers to assist and deal with on a regular basis. Some days, well, you know how it is...but you have to be pleasant because you want to keep your job, but more importantly since they are the reason I have been paid for the past 25 years. By the way, I only whistle classical, romantic, and a few English pieces at the moment...narco corridos are difficult.

I work with a lot of gringos, very few Latinos, even fewer black people, and no native Americans. so, you are lucky dude.

Fidel.

Gus,
it is nice of you to come down and visit me again.
Well bro, I was always peculiarly aware of you being
a multitasker, a miner of poetry, popular - Chente-like
and if not enough, wealthy and fast, like a hummingbird.

Fidel.

I know, money is tight right now. Hopefully the retirement nest stays the same, the market improves. Otherwise, bro, retirement will look gloomy and I do not want to keep on working hasta esa edad en que las bolas te cuelgan y te hacen jorobado... creo que me entendais?

I'm delighted you were able to get the message.
Hopefully, dear Sr.
I will not have a negative impact on you.
Words and imagination aren't always enough to paint a picture, but you're right on target, as always.

Oh, fucking beer, it tastes so good, it clears your vision and your inhibitions,
especially after a long day at work or mowing the grass. We've had some rain during the last three days,
but now the sun is shining and it's scorching hot. I'm not sure why Jesus didn't turn water into beer, or, if possible, gasoline.. I'm sure he'll be followed by everyone, including some of our fieriest atheist poets from the developed world.

Que pases buena noche loco, voy a tratar de pensar algo, ya tengo la chela, music, window's open y desde que la mota es legal en Oregon, te dire, se llega un olor, oh bro, pero una pinche cabrona makes this whole thing humanly- ducle for me..

Milagros,
I don’t write as much as I would like to en ingles, pero es una poesía que, gracias a Dios, conduzco or drive to with an inspiration en ingles in mind, pero siempre con sentires latinoamericanos, de México. It’s harder the find the balance of both languages, por eso, I won’t lie to you, at times I write too much and drink requete poquito because beer relaxes me y asi tiendo a escribir mucho pero solo elijo lo que mas me llega.

Bueno Milagros, pues es un milagro estés visitándome. I am greatly pleased to see the highlighted phrase you liked and while at it, I want to welcome you to our world of poetry and, no doubt I will be reading you, Milagro de los 80’s. Oh, los milagros existen.!

Kindly,
Fidel Guerra.

Gus,
thanks for doubling on the highlighted part Milagros liked from my poem
but I am well aware, for I well remember your genuine interest in poetry.

Alright, my friend, it is almost one a.m. and I go to work in about 7 hours...

take care,
Fidel Guerra.
