A summary of an overcast day.

Guerrion

Poeta que considera el portal su segunda casa
I apologize for not being able
to offer you the best poems,
such as those by Neruda,
but the ones I share
are from a poet
who is less
known.

Some individuals say that people like
me should not write. Yet, I always do.
With practice, you get the
hang of and handle on the
timing of inspiration in no time at all,
even if the product isn’t clear to read.

In the end,
there is nothing
as good as a warm kiss
from you on a sunless day.
Also, for some reason, there's
something about your hair that I just
can’t resist running my fingers through.

Humbly acknowledging your preference for the poet Pablo Neruda is encouraging.
We all face criticism about our right to write poetry, and almost always from those who know less.
No matter who writes it, continue with passion and inspiration, as external judgments are almost always accompanied by malice.

Greetings

Alde,
I really do like Neruda, far more so than I supposed. He was the first poet I ever read, and he inspired me to write not only in a personal journal but also in a way that made sense and felt comfortable to share. Neruda's poetry was light and utterly pleasing; it made me cry, smile, laugh, and reflect. At first, as I read it, I thought it was simple because I was only seeing some of his straightforward words. I could easily have imagined that— I told myself—but no way!

In the northernmost part of Mexico, specifically in the state of Tamaulipas, Reynosa, where I was born—an area known for its maquiladoras, migrant crossings, hard-working people, and drug cartels—poetry has little opportunity to thrive. I believe my poetry is easy to adapt to whatever you're going through in real life. So, if not much is happening, I tend to stop writing, and I don't like sharing overly nostalgic or angry poetry.

Overall, my poetry is something I would never want to remember again... except for a few pieces that my heart has marked with a green light, like a traffic signal or Spring for their character and life—reminding me to keep going no matter what. So, Compa Alde, por eso mis poemas son de la patada.

Saludos, and thanks a lot.
Fidel Guerra.

As long as you carry poetry in your heart, it's a step forward to seeing life and enjoying it from a different perspective. It's always an honor.

I send you another greeting.

I appreciate your kind response.
It is true, regardless of how we come into life—whether rich, poor,
or simply not typical of a poet, with tennis shoes and simple shirts—poetry lives in the heart.

take care, brother..
