Fine lines

are mirrors and I must accept myself,
be practical, and write without knowing
whether it will have significance or be forgotten
in your mind. In the end, I hope you are somewhat
aware that this is meant for you, that I’m doing well
without the intricacies of refined poetry, or your presence.​
