When I’m in love
poetry tends to come more readily
than most other things that inspire me, such as beer,
coffee, tea, whiskey, spring water or warm milk.
For a variety of reasons
I learn a lot about simple poetry
just by being next to you, to be honest.
For writing poetry
and feeling good about it or in the wind again,
hiking, priceless. For everything else, including nuts,
I carry Capital One because nobody takes American Express.
I don't know why,
but I’ve a sense that I should stop now
because I’m a busy guy.
