As promised, I never
hesitate to share my thoughts
about you in a readable way.
When you are around,
everything seems peaceful.
However, when you are just a step
closer, within a foot’s reach, you may hear
my wild soul calling out to you in celebration.
In the past,
I couldn't comprehend
how poetry came to me, but now,
as I marvel at your hair, listen to you, and
gaze into your eyes, I understand how it is created.
Still, there are rare times
when the free verse may struggle
due to a lack of inspiration. In these instances,
there is an alternative source of energy: Colombian coffee,
a Mexican beer, or a rush of scented memories reminiscent of cookies.
