the grey great cat

I’m well, have some friends,
a place to stay, and yes, I’m actually writing
but without a clue as to which way this is going.

Each morning after waking up, I open the window
and take a deep breath, my mind flies into the open
space and suddenly a fluffy grey cat appears out of nowhere.

Now that I have come to read
the faces of cats much as your morning sighs
It’s very easy to think of you and probably to talk to you too.

Poetic thoughts occur with music,
others in quiet times but the kindest just happen
and it’s always good to share them, even if isn't with you.

I’ll confess to you that my lady neighbor has a beautiful pussy,
indeed, is the first thing I see when I woke up to a new day.
So that all said, I need to take a deep breath and realize
that this scruffy little pussy at 6: a.m. is a good thing.
